ACTIon project partner Coalition SEGA realized the third training on Digital Participation and Active Citizenship (DigiPAC) on 21-23 April 2023 in Shtip with 8 representatives from civic and youth organizations from the Eastern region in North Macedonia.

The participants strengthened their capacities regarding youth activism, as well as application of the methodology used in European countries, which aims to encourage digital participation and active citizenship among young people. They got acquainted with the terms such as media literacy, proper behavior on the Internet that is called “Netiquette”, youth participation and digital youth participation. They also learned methods and techniques that they can apply when they are working with young people at the local level.

During end of April and May 2023, subsequent local activities with young people will be carried out in the direction of encouraging digital participation and active citizenship of young people, that is, organizing workshops for E-participation with young people and using the OPIN tool. The DigiPAC training manual and additional materials created within the ACTIon project was shared with the training participants. Coalition SEGA will provide mentoring support in the implementation of the follow-up activities at the local level.

The training was held as part of the activities of the ACTIon project, financed through the Erasmus+ program, which aims to help promote civic education, active digital citizenship and democratic participation of young people in formal and informal education.
