Coalition of youth organizations SEGA realised the conference “Through the prism of youth work – Strengthening youth work and civic activism through digital youth participation” on December 15, 2023 in Skopje.

The event shared good practices from piloting methodologies to encourage youth participation and civic activism among young people and shared two innovative manuals (DigiPAC and MOLA) that use offline and online methods and tools for training with youth that can be piloted in formal and informal educational settings, as well as a tool for digital youth participation.

Zoran Ilieski, Executive Director of the Coalition of Youth Organizations SEGA indicated that “The importance of encouraging civic activism among young people from primary and secondary education is of particular importance if we want to develop civic activism among young people. With the project, we brought two new methodologies and tool for digital youth participation intended for schools and civil society organizations that will provide youth workers with new informal approaches to activating young people through digital youth participation.”

Alexandra Petrovska, president of the ZEOOOP association believes that “The new digital era has brought new needs for digital participation, which civil society organizations have integrated into their work, filling the gap of the slow reaction of the educational system.”

The conference was attended by teachers and professional staff from primary and secondary schools as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations, youth workers and youth officials from municipalities and institutions.
