Successfully implemented training on “Digital Participation and Active Citizenship (DigiPAC)” in North Macedonia
Coalition SEGA realized the training on “Digital Participation and Active Citizenship (DigiPAC)” with 11 representatives from civic and youth organisations from the Pelagonia region.
The participants strengthened their capacities to adopt the methodology used in European countries to encourage digital participation and active citizenship among young people. They got acquainted with the terms “media literacy”, “netiquette”, “youth participation” and “digital youth participation”. They learned methods and techniques that they will use with young people at local level.
During September, follow-up local activities with young people will be carried out to encourage their digital participation and active citizenship. This means organising workshops on e-participation with young people using the OPIN tool www.opin.me. The DigiPAC training manual and additional materials created within the ACTIon project were shared with the participants of the training. Coalition SEGA will provide mentoring support in the implementation of the follow-up activities at local level.
The training was held in the period from August 12th – 14th, 2022 in Struga as part of the activities of the ACTIon project financed through the Erasmus+ program which aims to help promote civic education, active digital citizenship and democratic participation of young people in formal and informal education.
With the start of the training, we also marked the International Youth Day, August 12th.
