Call for ideas and voting through OPIN.ME platform to support green transformation in Bulgaria
The Open Space Foundation, ACTIon project partner in Bulgaria, uses the OPIN.ME platform and F.I.R.E. app to collect ideas for green transformation to be implemented in the city of Petrich, Bulgaria. The aim is to generate ideas for changing daily habits and behaviour to contribute to the sustainability of environment, nature and resources.
Within the framework of the Move Your Fingers Laboratory 1.0. organised in the city of Petrich during 11 October – 30 November 2022, the Open Space Foundation presented these two tools:
- F.I.R.E. app that helps young people to improve their media literacy,
- OPIN.ME platform through which young people can directly participate in the decision-making process.
These tools not only increase young people’s awareness of about “how” they can actively participate in public life, but also helps them “to be able” to participate, in line with the main goal of the ACTIon project. The “Move Your Fingers” Laboratory festival in the city of Petrich invited young participants to share their ideas for green transformation and to propose practices and daily habits to save nature and resources. The Open Space Foundation shares the interesting ideas collected during this initiative on their profile on the OPIN.ME platform.
What is new?
The Open Space Foundation decided to establish a fund for Youth Green Ideas to be used for the implementation of ideas in the city of Petrich and the region.
How will the fund work?
The funding is based on three steps: Fundraising, participative decision-making and transparent implementation. The Open Space Foundation opened the first call of ideas on the platform and invites everyone to propose ideas that will be useful for the city, for the people, for all. The call for ideas will be open until 10 January 2023. A voting will be made on the OPIN.ME platform to select the ideas to be implemented. Selected ideas will be worked on more in detail with their authors for a detailed description of work and required amount of funding.
The OPIN.ME platform is developed and operated by Liquid Democracy, a non-profit organization from Berlin. The code is in the public domain. This year, the platform is now available for use in Bulgarian, thanks to the ACTIon project partnership.
Funds will be used to finance the ideas. Full transparency and accountability of the collected funds, ideas and how they are implemented could be followed HERE.
